Colorodo-based photographer Skott Chandler’s latest series called Bedscapes gives an imaginative twist on the classic landscape photograph. Black and white images resemble mountains, valleys, oceans, and deserts. Chandler does a beautiful job of turning the ordinary into something out of this world. The landscape of Tomorrow

In Photography, Surreal, World on July 10, 2013 at 3:09 am

zhangye-danxia-landform-china

This is the view from the Zhangye Danxia Landform Geological Park in the Gansu Province, China. The natural colourful rock formations have been 24 million years in the making and the colours are formed by the presence of red sandstone and mineral deposits. Due to tectonic plate movements, erosion and strong winds, the terrain looks unbelievably surreal.

Six of the landscapes have also been added to the UNESCO World Heritage Site list.

Pamukkale-(2)

This is the Pammukkale in Turkey. These naturally terraced pools were apparently created when earthquake activity thousands of years ago brought water rich in calcium carbonate to the surface, causing it to accumulate in layers and layers over time to create these magnificent terraced pools.

Lenticular Clouds

Russian photographer Denis Budkov captures these naturally occurring Lenticular Clouds hovering over the Kamchatka Peninsular in Russia. “These clouds are very special as they do not move, they stay in one place and it’s only their shape that changes,” the 33-year-old told the Daily Mail. “There needs to be at least two factors for these clouds to appear–a very strong wind and a very high object, so Klyuchevskaya Sopka is a perfect place to find lenticular clouds,” he added, referring to the highest mountain in the Kamchatka Peninsula.

Daniella (b. 1986) is an award-winning photojournalist whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, the New York Daily News, Sports Illustrated, and Vanity Fair. Her photographs have appeared in exhibits throughout New York City and are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. Her kickstarter project is seeking funding for a new photography book that includes stunning pictures that overlay cityscapes- London and New York. She has created all of these amazing photographs with just her iphone 4S and the help of some smart photo editing apps. Her words: When I moved from New York City to London late last year, I decided to create a series of double exposures. These images are a love letter to two beautiful cities — a personal map of their streets and their skylines.
